The Android Eken tablet has amazed the entire world last year, when it was released, because the starting price of this tablet was of only $100. I have taken the information about this tablet from this site, which at its turn took it from Shanzai.com. That was among the first sites, if not the first one, which managed to get its hands on the Eken tablet.
The processor is a WonderMedia PRIZM processor, that clocks at 600 Mhz. The memory of the device is created using the DDR2 technology and it has 128 MB. The amount of memory is a bit too low, but the technology on which the RAM relies, makes the first disadvantage to be insignificant. There is the possibility of adding an SD card to the tablet, thanks to the SD card reader. The display is smaller than the iPad’s and the resolution offered by it is of 800×380. The operating system of the tablet is Android 1.6.

The device has a built-in camera, that has 1.3 MP and uses 2 GB of NAND hard drive. This Flash storage component can be improved by the use of an external hard drive, that supports up to 16 GB of data. It is reported that the battery of the device is not that good, the Shanzai site mentioning that it would be preferable for the battery to be improved on the next revision of the tablet.

If you look closely at the pictures in this article, you will see that the tablet looks like an oversized smartphone. This is why many have a problem in naming the 7 inch devices, tablets. But all the features of this tablet make it a tablet. Plus, you cannot call someone using this tablet, like you do when you have a smartphone.
