Let's enter the Eee series, because this is the category where you will find the tablet computers created by Asus. The tablets are of 2 kinds: Eee Pad Transformer TF101 and Eee Slate EP121.

Today we will present the Eee Pad Transformer TF101 tablet computer and in the next article we will present the second product. This is an item that transforms the conventional. Probably you know that you can attach a physical keyboard to a screen and you can use this product as a notebook computer. The Asus EEE Pad Transformer TF101, the tablet that transforms the conventional, is the hero of this article. When looking at the technical specifications of this tablet, I must tell you that I do not know with which of them to start. All of them seem brought from the future. For example, if you look only at the operating system, you can see that this tablet is like no other. At least, not like other Android tablet. Because this tablet runs the Android 3.2 operating system, the newest version of the OS released by Android.

The display has 10.1 inches in diagonal and it uses an LED backlight screen, based on the WVGA technology. The maximum resolution provided by this screen is of 1280×800. Do you know what multitouch screen means? A multitouch screen allows you to use multiple fingers in order to send commands or instructions to the device; in the case of a tablet, that benefits of a touchscreen, that screen is the input component. If you do not use a mouse, a touchpad or a keyboard, the screen becomes very important. Well, think that in the case of this tablet, the maximum number of fingers that are supported by the screen is of 10. The glass is scratch resistant, but I do not think that this could beat what I have just said. 10 instant commands? The availability of the Android tablets is huge. In almost any electronics store you enter or on every site, that sells electronics, you find Android-based tablets. The Android tablets needed to be more in order to compete with a single tablet, that has the same characteristics of an Android tablet. The main competitor of Android is the Apple’s iPad. I'm not saying that the Android tablets are not that competitive or advanced as the iPad, only that if you look to what's happening in the market today, you will see that there is only one touchscreen tablet, that runs the iOS and a large variety of Android tablets, that run different versions of the Android system.

So it is a bit unfair to compare the iPad, which is a single device, that has an operating system, that is run by only one mobile tablet in the world, to an Android tablet, that comes in many shapes and is designed by many manufacturers. In those electronics stores, of which I have mentioned at the beginning of my article, you may not find iPads, simply because they were sold even from the first day. I am maintaining my opinion that the iPad is the best touchscreen tablet in the world, nevertheless, some Android tablets were released, that can be considered the true competitors of the iPad. One of these is the Motorola Xoom.
