Someone asked us what are the advantages of possessing an Android smartphone or a tablet. I don't want to be rude or something and I will come also with a question: are you nuts, are you out of this world? The Android devices and the Apple devices, being they portable or not that portable and here I'm talking about the laptops that use the Linux operating system which is at the base of Android, are some of the best inventions of our days and if you ask me about the advantages of using a mobile platform?

I will think that the question was asked in another manner, because I cannot believe that someone doesn't recognize the advantages and the benefits of using a mobile platform until today. So I will think that probably the question was asked in relation to the Apple platform, and this is most likely to happen. So I have searched on the Internet for some features that exist in the case of the Android devices and which are not present in the case of the Apple devices. And I have entered a site that is named lifehacker.com, where there are presented some Android features that are not present in the case of an iPhone.

Nothing that can be written in this article cannot make me to believe that an Android device is better than iPhone, because I don't believe that this is possible, since the iPhone device is the best electronic device ever created, in my opinion (and I don't even possess one). But I will enjoy reading the article and I would enjoy more to see the opinions of those that possess iPhones and Android devices. In fact, this is how my next article will look like. I will ask some of my colleagues if they prefer the iPhone and why they prefer it and also those that have the Android devices, why they prefer the Android devices. I must say that I don't have any work colleague that has both type of devices, because they are not that cheap, especially if you live in Europe, where there are a lot of taxes and fees that must be paid in order to get your products from the United States.

It doesn't matter if you have an Archos 7 inch tablet computer or in Motorola Droid, you will still have access to the Android Market, from where you can download your apps to make your life more beautiful. The applications that are present on the Android Market site are divided in paid and free applications. There are also some other categories, but these are the most important ones. If you allow me to make a comparison between this site and the iTunes site, from where you can download applications for your Apple devices, in case you have Apple products as well, I think that the way the apps are divided on the Android Market site is better when compared to how the apps are divided on the iTunes site.

And I am saying this believing that no one can equalize the iPhone and the iPad devices. So I believe that the Apple products are better in some regards when they are compared to the Android ones, but when it comes to the presentation of an application on the Android Market site, I believe that it is done better on this site. Every time I want to find free applications in the App Store, I don't have this possibility. I must tell you something, when I do this I don't use my iPhone, simply because I don't possess an iPhone, I do the search using my computer. Probably the apps are divided indeed in paid and free applications, just like it happens on the Android site, only that when I search for apps on the Android site, I also use my computer, not my Android phone, because of the same reason that was presented earlier: I don't possess an Android device either.

Some of the categories that are present on the Android site are referring to games, business, comics, finance, entertainment, lifestyle, live wallpaper and more. There are plenty of applications and categories; they are created for virtually any person that has an Android device, no matter how cranky that person is. If you want to make an old man laugh, you should buy or download an application from this site. Although there may be a problem, if that senior man doesn't own an Android device. But if you got the application, you will have to get the Android device as well. I'm just joking.

I have talked earlier about the Angry Birds application that is destined to the Android devices; not because this application is not destined to iPhone and iPad devices as well, because it is, but because this site, as you can see from the name of the site, is dedicated mostly to the Android devices. It is true, from time to time we also write about Apple devices, but this is not a regular habit.

As you might expect, the size of this application is large enough, to contain all the information related to the angry birds: 22.1 MB. The current version of the app is 1.6.0. You need Android 1.6 to play this app and virtually any Android device. As long as you have Android 2.2 operating system, you can download without any problems this application from the Android Market site.

What I would like to present now related to this application is anything that I did not presented in my previous article. This is a natural, because if I have presented it, I would've have started to speak about it in this article. I want to present some reviews made by customers. There are 120 customer reviews on Amazon, the site from where you can download this application and they are something like this: this application has received 38 reviews from people that consider this app as being excellent (in other words, they have offered to this application 5 stars), there are 12 people that consider this application as being good, but not excellent (this may be also influenced by their Android devices, which may not be as good as the application; don't laugh, because there are hardware equipments that unfortunately use the Android operating system, which in my opinion is a masterpiece, and which because they are not that good – I'm talking about the hardware equipment now – they tend to ruin the use of the very good application like this one) and also 17 customers that say that this is a 3 star application.

One of the reviewers, one of those 12 that have offered to this application 4 stars said that he or she offered this rating because the application support ads, but this is natural, taking into consideration that this is a free application. If you don't like it, you can get paid applications, because there are plenty on the Android Market site.

Do you know what Rovio Mobile means? It means that we are talking about the developer that has created Angry Birds, the game that is so popular on iPhone and also on the Android devices. Speaking of iPhone, don't forget to check our site iphonekicks.com, where I speak about applications for iPhone and iPad. Most of the apps that are created for Android work on iPhone as well and vice versa, but there are some apps that can be encountered on a platform and only on that one. Usually when I speak about an application that is included in this category I say that you can use it only on your iPhone or only on your Android smartphone or tablet.

Well, the Angry Birds series is played on iPhone, iPad and on the Android devices as well. This application that I have selected for today, Angry Birds Seasons is free of charge and it is destined to adults (you did not see this coming right?) and of course to children, but children that can read and are capable of understanding this game. The application was recently released, to be more precise it was released on September 1, 2011, which means that several days before.

I cannot presents to you more details related to this application, because I'm pretty sure that you know this app. I have recently seen some people that were dressed like the characters in this game and I have to say that I don't live in the United States. In fact, I live in a region where we don't actually speak English, but more other languages. But apparently this did not stop those that want to show their appreciation towards this game to start wearing the suits that made them to look like these angry birds. Speaking of the characters that are presented in this game, let me present them to you. First we have the red birds, that seems to be the most dangerous of all, second we have a blue bird, bird that can be also dangerous, if you do not watch out, thirdly we have the yellow bird, which is fast, powerful and precise.

But the characters do not end here: we have also a white birds that uses explosive eggs, we also encounter the black bird, which is not the name of a ship or something, but the name of a bird, that is a character in the Angry Birds game and lastly, we have the boomerang bird, that is green and mean.

In that situation, probably you can download the app, but you cannot use it.

As you can see, this is a paid application, but the developers have thought to the people that don't want to pay money for this app, and they have created the Lite version of the app. The app has features like: a flexible navigation system, extensive theme support, great personalization options, full widgets support, 5 different transitions from a home screen to another, the possibility of seeing the home screen images in landscape or portrait, the possibility of setting one of the images, the one that you like most, as a wallpaper, the possibility of accessing the vibration feature from this app, of reading the user’s contact data, of the reading the SMS messages, while you are using this app and many more.

The important thing when you want to download Android applications on your tablet or smartphone, is to have the Android Marketplace already installed. It is like when you want to download apps for your iPhone or iPad and you need the iTunes software, that can be downloaded for free from the Apple's site.

Some of the tablets that run the Android operating system offer you a direct access to the Android Market, but others don't; in this situation you have to install that software program by yourself and whenever you will want from then on, you will be able to download and install applications in your tablet. The app of which I will talk today is named We Camp Here Campground Search created by a company that has the same name as the application, We Camp Here. Simply by looking at the name of the application and you can tell what it does.

You can select also what utilities do you want your location to have; you can select for example that you want a location where you can be able to use your TV, in other words to provide you with a cable that is going to give you access to your favorite channels, or you can choose to go in a location that will provide do you also with the TV, not only with the cable that gives you the possibility of accessing your preferred channels. I don't see the utility of a TV, since you are going to spend a nice holiday trip in the nature. You can forget about TV and your smartphone there. Nevertheless, you should get your tablet, just to run this application.

If you work in a big company, most likely you know what it means to have a jerk always next to your side; if you work in a small company, made of just a few people, you have plenty of chances to not meet that jerk of which I am talking about. Nevertheless, for all the jerks in this world and for their colleagues mostly, Fluik has created an application that is named Office Jerk.

Here is how this application works: at first, you have to select your target, which is the office jerk, the person that everyone in your office or room hates. When you have localized that person and when you have sat on your chair comfortably enough to be able to throw a sheet of paper towards that person, being a she or a he, it is time to start to be creative. This application has a video presentation as well, presentation that I'm watching right now, which is made in the 70s or 80s way. But a sheet of paper that is not going to be used anymore is too light and it will not hit your target very well, this is why you have other choices, from pencils to cups of coffee, without the coffee inside and also I can see some others.

Android devices are very spread around the gadget users, because this is the best operating system for a mobile device, and it is natural for something like this to happen. The era when the iOS devices ruled is now gone and I feel that soon, the Android devices will be much more than the Apple ones. If you look on the sites that offer jobs for programmers, designers and developers, you will see that the jobs offered to the Android developers are much more than the ones offered to the iOS and Apple developers.

It seems that the evolution is not only in terms of hardware equipments, but in the field of the software programs. The evolution in the case of Android smartphones and tablets was a bit inversed than the one of the Apple devices. The iPhone and the iPad were created as something that the world has never seen until then, the hardware was amazing and the applications made you dream at a device like that. So, when Android devices were released on market, what Google needed to do, was to create an operating system, that was so smart and so capable, that it could break the barriers and provide much more than iOS. So, we can say that in the case of Android, the software was better than the hardware products themselves.
