These are some of the most important characteristics of this product. But I haven't mentioned anything about the price yet. This configuration with the i3-2330M processor, that has a speed of 2.2 GHz and 3 MB of L3 cache, has a starting price of $1199. There are some other configurations available. One comes with the same processor, but with other internal components; the price is of $1299. And there is also a third one, with an Intel Core i5-2410M processor, with a speed of 2.3 GHz and 3 MB of L3 cache. This version of the tablet costs $1549.

This is not the first Android tablet that I present taking into consideration the characteristics of this device as they are presented on CNET.com, because I have done this one hour ago, and for today I have selected another manufacturer. I was asked to write a review about a CNET tablet and one hour ago I have selected Lenovo ThinkPad 1838 tablet computer, a tablet that obviously ran the Android operating system; for today, I have selected to present another tablet, that uses other version of the operating system than the one used by the Lenovo tablet. I am talking about Archos 7 home tablet that comes with 8 GB in the storage capacity. This product has a black color and it is considered a good product on CNET. It has received 3 stars from the editors of this site and also 3 stars from users.

This product has the price of $129.88 and the quick specifications of this product will be presented next. We are told that the operating system ran by this device is Android, without a certain version. I know that Archos tablet usually used Android 2.2 operating system, unlike Lenovo which uses Android 3.1. But I believe that the newest version of Archos can also use Android 3.1. The products type is Web tablet, the part number of the tablet that we are reviewing here being 501521. The screen size has 7 inches and the display resolution is a regular resolution, coming from a screen this small: 800×480. The color depth is of up to 16.2 million colors.

The Flash memory is of 8 GB, as I have said before and the supported Flash memory cards are the micro SDHC cards. The tablet benefits of the Wireless standard which allows the users to communicate with their friends on the Internet without using wires, just like the regular desktops. The standard used by the tablet is 802.11b/g. There is no GPS navigation integrated in this device and if you want to use a global positioning system, you should by a product that is dedicated to this feature. There are integrated some audio components, such as a microphone and a speaker.

Are you interested in all devices manufactured by Archos, which run the Android 2.2 operating system? Because I don't know if a product can use this OS when it is upgraded, just like the Microsoft Windows XP computers can use Windows 7 and I don't want to make you confused. For example, on Amazon.com, you can find a product created by this manufacturer that you have requested us to write a review about, product that is known as Arnova, only that on Amazon, it is said that this electronic device runs with Android 2.1 operating system. I don't know if the user that has bought this product from Amazon upgraded the operating system and I don't know either if you can do this when speaking about the Arnova tablet computer manufactured by Archos.

There are products on Amazon and not only, that have within their descriptions this one also: with the possibility of upgrading to Android x.x (I will not mention any version of this operating system; I just wanted to provide a short example). So, there are many tablet computers in this case which can run the Android 2.2 operating system. Even those that initially ran Android 2.0 may be able to use Android 2.2 or Android 3.0, if they are properly updated.

I was very curious to see why I am not able to find an Android 2.2 device manufactured by Archos on Amazon, because it seemed that no matter how hard I have tried, I wasn't able to find a product that ran this operating system (I mean this version of this operating system). I have discovered that Archos 32 comes with Android 2.1 (which was probably upgradable), only that I was not satisfied with this answer and I wanted to find a product that actually runs Android 2.2, as our reader requested us. And because I remembered that I have written about this type of product before and I knew that this tablet computer runs the Froyo version of the Android operating system, which is also known as the 2.2 version, I have entered the official site of the manufacturer and search for more information related to the software programs ran by this device.

Among the most popular Android tablets, we can name the G9 tablets: Archos 80 and Archos 100. Then, we have the Internet tablets: Archos 101, Archos 70, Archos 43, Archos 32, Archos 28 and Archos 48.

Welcome to another article on this site, article where I will compare the Android tablet chipsets. I will refer only to the Android tablets that can be found on overstock.com. At the same time, I would like to make a comparison of the prices of these tablets, because a large amount of the price of a tablet is represented by the price of the processor and chipset of course.

The first tablet that is taken into consideration is ViewSonic ViewPad 7, a tablet that costs €366.34. The chipset model of this device is MSM7227 and the chipset manufacturer is Qualcomm. The manufacturer of the processor is ARM and the processor type is ARM11. At the same time, I would like to mention the speed of the processor, which is of 600 MHz.

The next tablet is Azpen, a tablet that has a screen size of 10.1 inches in diagonal and which can run at the same time 2 operating systems (a very interesting tablet that is sold for €425.18), these systems being Windows 7 and Android tablet computer operating system. The next tablet is another one created by Azpen, only that this one has only 7 inches in diagonal and costs €132.65. On overstock.com, at the technical details, we don't get information about the processor and the chipset, which makes me think that they are the same as in the previous case.

The last tablet that I present here is Acer Iconia A500, which has the processor created by Nvidia, the processor being Tegra 250, having a speed of 1 GHz. It has a dual core and a cache of 1 MB.

I am talking about 2 GB of RAM, that functions at the maximum speed of 533 MHz, the exact speed of the front side bus. This is created using the DDR2 technology. The internal drive is represented by a solid-state Flash module that has up to 64 GB. There is also an optical drive taken into consideration, which is represented by the possibility of connecting some external CD or DVD players using the USB connectors. The Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 500 does all the work when it comes to great graphics.

Think that the tablet computers are small electronic products, that have as main purpose to be portable and used by those who travel a lot. Not even the laptop computers, which are larger, are not used all the time at an office or on your own home desk. The laptops also are portable and used for this feature of theirs.

Nevertheless, if you like to use the terms together, you're free to do whatever you want. In this article, I will present a ViewSonic product, namely the ViewPad 10 inch tablet PC.
